# Opennebula vm export

Hi,

We are having 50+ vps machines running using Opennebula and KVM. One of our customer need to export their vm image to there own cloud vmware.  
Is there any cool way to export opennebula (kvm) vm to VMware ?

Unfortunately there is no export button (there is an upload one, an export image button would be a welcome feature). How we ‘solve’ this is by place the Qemu / KVM image on a secure download server for the customer to download after we locate it in the datastore(usually it involves looking up the location in the database). With a converter they then can change its format if possible.

Hi,

OpenNebula ONE 5.2 has option to export an image to custom/local/ marketplace using the [marketplace driver](http://docs.opennebula.org/5.2/integration/infrastructure_integration/devel-market.html). You need to set up local marketplace and the image’s DATASTORE\_MAD must have working `export` script.

It is possible to create a working marketplace setup but it needs more polishing work though.

Sounds what one’d need to find is a OVF converter script, that way it’d be importable almost anywhere.
