Datastores nested in folders not available for import - vCenter

When trying to import datastores from our vCenter I only see a small list of datastores that are at the datacenter root. The ones within folders are not available in the import list. As well moving a datastore to the root does not make it appear in the list either. There are no spaces in the datastore name. The missing datastores do appear under Host - Info.

Any ideas? TIA
