How to decrease/shrink virtual disk size an active VM?

Hi Group,
I have an active VM of total size of 100GB assigned but usage is only 20GB . I want to de-allocate unused storage for another vm.

any lead to the problem will be appreciated!

Hi @hussain,

Do you really need that? Note that if you are using qcow2 format, the actual size of the virtual disk is less than maximum (if the VM is not using the whole disk). Besides, you can use the qemu-img to shrink a qcow2 disk but from the point of view of the guest OS the size will be the same unless you also shrink corresponding filesystem partition.
