Windows 10 in RUNNING/POWEROFF cycle

Hi,

We have a Windows 10 VM that seems to be in a continual RUNNING/POWEROFF cycle (see below). The VNC does not appear but the machine is running and can be contacted by Microsoft Remote Desktop.

We are running 4.12.1-1 on Debian 7.11

Any idea what could be causing this?

    Regards,
       Gerry

Hi Gerry,

Please take a look at the system logs on the hypervisor especially for unusual libvirtd/polkitd related messages. If the VM is working fine it is most probably some monitoring problem.

Kind Regards,
Anton Todorov

Hi Anton,

Thanks for the reply. I can’t find anything for “libvirtd/polkitd” in
/var/logs. Is there anywhere else I should look?

There is a nasty consequence from this issue. If I delete a VM when it
is in the POWEROFF state, then KVM process remains running on the
hypervisor. This can lead to future VMs with duplicate MAC and IP addresses.

  Gerry
