Live migration between Centos and Ubuntu KVM host

Hi,

We are running Opennebula version 5.10.1 with Centos 7 KVM hosts.
Recently we hadded Ubuntu 18.04 KVM hosts but we are unable to live migrate from the Centos hosts to the Ubuntu hosts because of different “Machine types”

Centos uses pc-i440fx-rhel7.0.0 and Ubuntu pc-i440fx-bionic

Both have a machine type called “pc” but also doesn’t work because it is an alias.

Is it possible to create custom machine type which is supported on both hosts ?

Hi @TomT ,

It is recommended to use the same OS on all hosts but you can try changing the machine type to q35.
