No match for argument: opennebula-node-kvm Error: Unable to find a match: opennebula-node-kvm

I am trying to install Open Nebula as a POC to replace VMware vSphere with KVM hosts.

We are a Rocky shop at this point, but are ok with Unbuntu in certain circumstances. I have the front end system set up on Alma Linux 9, and that seems hunky-dory.

Every time I try to move to the KVM node install steps, I get this failure:
No match for argument: opennebula-node-kvm

I have had in on Rocky 9, Ubuntu 24.10 and now Alma Linux 9 following the documentation, none of them download and install the component from the repo.

Anyone have a clue what to do hear? I am hoping I am just missing something simple since this seems like a pretty basic requirement.

Perhaps you don’t have the opennebula repository enabled on the KVM node. You get that message when the package is not found on the yum repos.

Thank you, I somehow missed step 1 in all this. It’s not clear that this is necessary. I also have found the cat scripts in these documents do not work as expected. I have had to make the repo files by hand for this to work here and with the front end server.

Thanks for replying and helping me find the answer.

Thank you for reporting the instructions not working. There was a small error with the code blocks on the documentation source. Should work now.
