Has any work been done on using (EC2) “spot” instances? The application would be fairly short, preemptible, computational jobs (a la Condor, if you’re familiar with that). I’m guessing there’s enough in terms of scheduling and hooks to make that sort of thing work, but I can’t find any reference to it being done, so maybe not.
