Incorrect CPU Processor Configuration in Windows Server VM

We are facing an issue while creating a Windows Server VM using a predefined template. The VM is created successfully; however, upon checking the System Information inside the virtual machine, we observed that the CPU processor details do not match the configuration specified in the template.

Could you please look into this issue and assist us in resolving it?

Versions of the related components and OS (frontend, hypervisors, VMs):

Steps to reproduce:

Current results: After creating a Windows Server VM using a predefined template, checking the System Information inside the virtual machine, the CPU processor details do not match the configuration specified in the template

Expected results: The CPU processor should match the configuration specified in the template.

For Windows VMs, there are some options recommended to be set up:

  • hyperv will improve the CPU timing and usage on windows VMs
  • Setting up the CPU model as passthrough is also recommended. If all the physical servers on that cluster have the same CPU model is actually the best setting.

Thanks!
