Let’s say I were a service provider and I created my own service templates in order to build and deploy repeatable solutions to customers - do I have to define these service templates on each and every OpenNebula Zone or are there ways to deploy and distribute service templates direct from the service provider?
Also, I’m keen to know whether there is there any support for service template distribution across federates environments?

Templates are local to each zone. Note that a template refer to resources
local to a zone (e.g. a vnet or image can be in a zone but not in another
one)

From a service provider view point - it would be an asset to be able to provide pre defined templated services that could be distributed to customer zones from a central location. Imagine what an enabler that would be.
Is this not very similar to the functionality that I was looking for?
“AppMarket allows you to build your own internal marketplace service. [snip]
An OpenNebula Virtual Appliance is a pre-built software solution,
consisting of a set of pre-configured virtual machine images and a
template, ready-to-run on an OpenNebula cloud.”
It even includes OVA support. It looks like a pretty powerful tool to me.
