Upgrade to 4.14, Debian 7

Hi,
my current install (4.8) is on a Debian 7. Would Ubuntu 14/Debian 8 packages install on a Debian 7, or should I recompile everything from source to be able to upgrade? We cannot expect to upgrade servers to follow available packages.

Hi, I think they won’t, you would need to recompile from source…

As I installed previous versions with the deb packages, I need to rebuild from source and rebuild deb package to install them the same way. Taking debian 8 package, uncompressing it and rebuilding on a Debian 7 should ok ? No specific Debian 8 dependency?
