I’m in the process of testing vOneCloud 1.8 and I’m having mixed results with VNC and the mouse pointer, particularly with Windows as an OS. The mouse pointer will not respond in the VNC window. I’ve found evidence that suggests that VMware tools needs to be running. For example, once I install VMware tools on a Windows 2012 R2 guest OS, the mouse pointer through VNC starts responding. The context of this of course is using OpenNebula Sunstone.
Is it a requirement that VMware tools (or even open-vm-tools for Linux OS) be installed and running in order for the mouse pointer to work in the VNC console?
